‘Non-slip’ is an interesting term. Ultimately, if the mat is wet enough and the position you are in is placing a lot of stress on the mat then, even on the best ‘non-slip’ mats you are still likely to slide a little.

Perhaps, a better term would be ‘less slip’. Generally, the cheaper the mat (such as those you will find in your local gym) the more slippery they are going to be.

If you are practicing a ‘light’ type of yoga such as Hatha then this may not be a problem, but for those practicing Ashtanga and hot yoga, for example, you may struggle.

This is why people buy or Pro mat. Its Polyurethane surface makes it, we believe, one of the grippiest mats out there. Even our Eco mat has much more grip than a standard gym mat, but it can’t match our Pro mat.
